Color depth describes the precision used to represent color values, while color space describes how those values relate to colors. These are separate aspects of a display path and neither alone guarantees accurate reproduction.
How the pieces connect
A digital signal may encode components in different arrangements, sometimes sharing color information among neighboring samples. Resolution and refresh rate combine with these choices to determine link bandwidth needs. The panel, application, operating system, and connection each have supported formats, and the actual output is constrained by their intersection.
An everyday example
A display mode that is available at one refresh rate may offer different color-format choices at another. The amount of transmitted information changed even though the panel's physical dimensions did not. A document prepared for one color space can also appear different when interpreted through another workflow, independent of the package's release number.
Reading the information in context
More bits do not correct an unsuitable profile or turn all source material into high-dynamic-range content. Precision, range, calibration, and application handling have different roles. Use the display maker's specifications and the relevant application's color-management documentation to interpret a particular workflow. This site does not measure a panel or claim to calibrate color through the browser.
