Find plain-language definitions for the vocabulary of device software. Each term includes context, an example, and a boundary that helps distinguish it from a similar but different concept.
Definitions with a practical boundary
Technical words can describe different layers depending on context. An endpoint is not necessarily a physical socket, a version is not automatically a quality score, and a digital signature does not establish compatibility by itself. These definitions preserve those distinctions instead of reducing each term to an advertising label or an unexplained acronym.
Use the surrounding explanation
Follow the related references when a short definition raises a second question. The glossary is deliberately linked to articles and built-in-tool guides, so you can move from a word to a concrete observation. It does not contain product rankings or endorsements. Named standards and operating-system terms are used descriptively, and no manufacturer relationship is implied by their inclusion.
