DMCA & Copyright

Last updated:

This page provides a channel for copyright concerns about material hosted by driversoftguide. Original site illustrations and writing are distinct from external documentation linked for reference, which remains under its respective owners' terms.

Identify the material

A notice should identify the copyrighted work and the specific page or material alleged to infringe it. Provide a sufficiently precise location so the material can be found without guessing. A claim about content hosted on an external website should normally also be directed to the operator responsible for that website rather than assuming this library controls it.

Information in a notice

Where the DMCA applies, a notice generally includes contact information, a physical or electronic signature, a good-faith statement that the disputed use is not permitted by permission, and a statement of accuracy and authority under penalty of perjury. Requirements can differ under other laws. This page explains a submission channel, not legal advice about whether a particular use is infringing.

Handling and counter-notices

A sufficiently detailed notice can be assessed and appropriate material restricted or corrected where warranted. If a counter-notice process applies, the relevant legal requirements must be considered before material is restored. The site does not invent a registered designated-agent identity or promise a legal status it has not established. Misrepresenting rights or facts can have legal consequences.

Use Copyright notice on the Contact form or email info@driversoftguidegmail.com. Do not attach credentials or unrelated personal documents. The form accepts text only, so identify the work and relevant public locations rather than submitting a large archive. Copyright correspondence is handled through the hosting and email providers described in Privacy Policy, with its storage boundaries explained in Data Retention.

Required takedown notice elements

For a notice under 17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3), send the following to the email below. A notice must be sufficiently complete to identify and assess the claim; material omissions may require clarification.

  • A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person acting with permission for them.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work, or a representative list when multiple works at one online site are involved.
  • Identification of the allegedly infringing material and information reasonably sufficient to locate it, preferably exact page URLs.
  • Information reasonably sufficient to contact the complaining party, such as an address, telephone number and email address.
  • A statement of good-faith belief that the disputed use is not permitted by the owner, its agent or the law.
  • A statement that the information is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that the sender is acting with permission for the owner of the exclusive right allegedly infringed.

Counter-notice requirements and process

If material is removed and the statutory counter-notice process applies, the affected party may submit a signed counter-notice identifying the removed material and its former location. It must state under penalty of perjury a good-faith belief that removal resulted from mistake or misidentification, give the sender's name, address and telephone number, and include the consent to federal district court jurisdiction and acceptance of service required by §512(g)(3). For a sender outside the United States, the statute addresses a district in which the service provider may be found. These requirements are described, not a declaration of our own governing jurisdiction.

When applicable, the statutory process involves forwarding the counter-notice to the original complainant and possible restoration not less than 10 and not more than 14 business days after receipt, unless notice of a qualifying court action is received. Restoration is not automatic merely because an email is sent. Consider qualified legal advice before submitting statements with legal consequences.

Repeated infringement and scope of this channel

We may remove infringing material and restrict abusive repeat submissions where appropriate. There are no visitor accounts or public uploads to terminate on this site. If those features are introduced, a suitable repeat-infringer process must accompany them. This contact channel does not assert that a designated agent is registered with the Copyright Office or that any statutory safe harbor is established. Knowingly false infringement claims or counter-notices can create liability.
